Disability Information          

Bridge Cottage Surgery are aware of the importance of providing care and support to patients with a disability. This page provides some useful information, but if you have any special needs please let our staff know so that we can help and ensure you get the same support in the future.

Accessible Information Standard

The Accessible Information Standard tells organisations how they should make sure that disabled patients receive information in formats that they can understand and receive appropriate support to help them to communicate. These standards include making sure that people get information in different formats if they need it.

Bridge Cottage Surgery often communicates with patients through its website, if you would like information from us in an alternative format (for example, large print, braille, easy read, email) or if you need help with communicating with us (for example, because you use British Sign Language, need an interpreter), please let us know. Wheelchair Access
Wheelchair access is available at the front of the surgery, we have toilets for the disabled, and a lift.
 
Disabled Parking – Blue Badge Scheme
The Blue Badge scheme is for people with severe mobility problems. It allows Blue Badge holders to park close to where they need to go.
 
Blind/Partially Sighted
Our website has been built to use audio screen readers, screen magnification and high contrast. The website also allows use larger font size settings . If despite these measures you need a large print of our practice leaflet / information in other formats, such as braille, please ask Reception for further information.

Guide Dogs
Guide dogs are welcome at the surgery but we ask that you be aware of other patients and staff who may have an allergy or fear of dogs.

Hearing Loss/Deafness
If you struggle to use the telephone please note you can book appointments, order repeat prescriptions or get test results online. You can also contact a Clinician by using the eConsult module on our website.

Information in Different Languages
You can translate health information on our website using an online translator.
Although online translators can accurately translate individual words and phrases, they may not always be able to interpret the meaning of larger or more complex pieces of information.
