Pregnancy Care Planner

The more you know about your pregnancy and your options, the more you are likely to feel in control. The information given here is based on The Pregnancy Book, which your midwife should give you at your first appointment.

Before you are pregnant

Congratulations - you're pregnant!

Once you have had your pregnancy confirmed, you will need to be referred to a local hospital to start your maternity care. Many hospitals now operate a self referral process, details of which are provided on their individual websites. Alternatively, you can come and see a GP.

Local hospitals include Lister Hospital (Stevenage), Barnet Hospital, Watford Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow).
