Travelling by car

Coming North from London – take Junction 6, but be careful as there is no junction 5 northbound. Junction 6 is sign posted as A1000. From the slip road, you will come to a roundabout. Take the first exit on your left. Go along here for about 200 yards and you will see a BP Petrol station on your right. Turn right immediately after the petrol station and go down behind it. This is called London Road. This road leads into Welwyn. Coming down the hill, you will see a pub called The Steamer on your right, and as you come into the village, a pub called the White Hart will appear almost in front of you. You will see a small bridge. The surgery is on the left here. There is a public car park on the right.

Coming South from Stevenage – Take Junction 6. Down the slip road, get into the right hand lane ready for the roundabout (which can be very busy). Take the 3rd turning, which immediately goes under a large bridge. The road offers two routes, take the left route signed to Welwyn. This road will take you past a fire station and a Civic Centre and library on your right. The road veers to the left and you will come to a T-junction. Turn right and you are in Welwyn. Bridge Cottage Surgery is on your left and there is a public car-park on your right.

Instructions from Hertford – Come along the B1000, to Digswell. Keep on this road until you come to a main roundabout. Go straight over (sign posted to Welwyn and the A1). You will now be on dual carriage way until another roundabout. Go straight over this one. This road immediately goes under a large bridge. The road offers two routes, take the left route signed to Welwyn. This road will take you past a fire station and a Civic Centre and library on your right. The road veers to the left and you will come to a T-junction. Turn right and you are in Welwyn. Bridge Cottage Surgery is on your left and there is a public car-park on your right.

Travelling by bus

From Welwyn Garden City, Bus numbers 300 and 734 stop outside Barclays Bank. Go towards the high Street, turn left, walk past the shops, Post Office, cross over and the surgery is just after the little bridge.
